CUSTOM BAKERY BOXES – ALL WAYS TO REUSE

You will be surprised to know that many bakery owners are still not aware of how customers can reuse Custom Bakery Boxes. They focus on the taste and quality of the products they serve to their customers.

But, they forget the usage of material that bring a reuse quality to their containers. Today we will discuss some after uses of packaging. Before going in detail let us share the types of cartons you can use for your bakery items.

Types of Bakery Boxes

There are different types of Printed Bakery Boxes that are available in the market. Some of the common types are as follows:

Standard White Box

This is the most common type used to pack cakes, pastries and other baked items. It is made of cardboard and has a white finish.

Window Box

This type has a clear window in the front that allows customers to view the baked item inside. The window is made of plastic or vinyl.

Display Box

You can use it to display baked items in a store or retail setting. It has a clear window on the front and a hinged lid that can be folded back and secured with tape. These boxes prepare with cardboard.

Box with Molded Insert

It has a compartment designed to hold specific items such as cupcakes, donuts, pretzels and rolls. The lid sits on top of the insert and closes over it to protect the baked goods inside. They can either be cardboard or plastic, depending on which material will last longer.

Custom Boxes

This type is explicitly produced for order and built out of paperboard (cardstock). Some custom packages come preassembled, while others must be folded together before use. Customized containers may include special inserts like dividers, inserts with deep wells to hold liquid-type items or specialized slits for twist ties.

Which type of packaging is best for your business depends on the items you sell and how you plan to distribute them. Standard white boxes are a good choice for most baked goods, while window ones are perfect for displaying cakes and pastries.

If you are selling cupcakes or other individual items, then a pack with a molded insert is a good option. If you want a special shape or measure, then custom cartons are the way to go. Talk to your printer about what options are available and what will work best for your needs.

Uses of Bakery Boxes

Bakery boxes are typically made of brown paperboard. This is usually good for at least 4 uses, though food safety experts recommend only 2 ways. Here are all the ways you can reuse your one:

1. Store baked goods in it – after cooling completely, first

Food safety experts strongly recommend that if you want to store any perishable food (muffins, cookies, cupcakes, pies, cakes), cool them first before putting them into the box. Then store them cold or room temperature (not hot). This is because storing food at high temperatures speeds up spoilage and might encourage bacteria growth. Also, make sure that there’s no wet residue left on the container or in it before you store food in it.

This way, your box can hold any leftover baked goods that are best stored cold or at room temperature. If there’s no wet residue in it and you have not used absorbent material to line the bottom for storage, cover all exposed foods with plastic wrap or aluminum foil before putting them into the refrigerator. So, they won’t dry out so much when chilled.

2. Use as a disposable plate for cooked food

After cooking some large meat section (e.g., cooked chicken) at home, you could put all the pieces directly onto a container rather than using multiple plates bowls. Then wrap it with plastic or aluminum foil, and put it in the refrigerator.

We do not recommend it with smaller cooked food items (e.g., cookies, cupcakes). Since, they can easily be stacked on top of each other when you do this. It’s also not recommended when the food in question has enough surface area exposed to allow for bacteria growth (like lasagna).

3. Use as a disposable plate for raw meat

If you are making sandwiches that include some meat product to eat without cooking (ground beef tacos), then you could keep both the skillet and the cutting board used to prep these out of your way by using a box under them instead.

4. Transport or store small items in it

This is the most familiar way people use! Using as an improvised storage container for random things like screws, nails, nuts, bolts, washers, etc. It’s easy to carry and has a relatively tight-fitting lid. Just be sure that whatever you put inside is either not going to leak or will be contained if it does.

Bakery Boxes Wholesale are versatile containers that you can use for all sorts of purposes beyond just storing or transporting food. So the next time you have one laying around, see if you can’t find a way to put it to good use!
