CLASSIFICATION OF SNEHANA-

1.) Snigdha virechan- meaning ofSnigdha meansoily. It isindicated where pittaislinked tovata dosha.
2) Rooksha virechan- itis identified when pitta islinked to kapha dosha.
Virechanmay causeconstipation, gout, piles, jaundice, liver disease, splenomegaly, ascites,dysuria, pain in largein the intestine, diseases of the urogenitalsystem infemales and males, nasal bleeding etc.
Insufficiency of the digestive system, diarrhea and dysentery as well as ulcersin the rectum and emaciatedperson, following excessiveOleation treatment, injuries etcareall instances in whichvirechanshould not be used.
3) BASTI KARMA
Inearlier times,thebladder (basti) wasutilized as anequipmentforan enema.So the name for theprocedure is basti karma.
Basti isan exclusive treatmentthat is used inayurvedic panchakarma.In this treatment, medicated gheedecoction, oil and other ingredientsare administeredvia rectal,vaginal, and urinary route.
